Shipping policy

Thanks for shopping with Hot Tropiks. Because many of our books and products are small-batch, imported, or event-driven, this policy explains how shipping works and what to expect.

By placing an order, you agree to the terms below.

Where We Ship

We currently ship to:

  • United States
  • Canada

Please double-check your address at checkout. We ship to the exact address entered and can’t make changes once processing begins.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on real-time carrier rates.

Free U.S. shipping is available on orders over $80 (after discounts, before tax).

Shipping charges are non-refundable once your order has shipped.

Processing Time

Orders usually ship within 1–3 business days, but this can take longer during:

  • new releases
  • conventions and pop-ups
  • restocks
  • holidays
  • busy sales periods

We’re a small team and appreciate your patience during high-volume times.

Preorders, Restocks & Limited Runs

Some of our titles are printed in small batches or shipped to us from the Philippines.

If you order an item marked:

  • Preorder
  • Backorder
  • Restocking

it will ship as soon as it arrives.

Ship dates are estimates and may change.

If your order includes both in-stock and preorder items, we may ship everything together once all items are ready.

If you need in-stock items sooner, contact us and we can arrange separate shipping (additional postage may apply).

Delivery Times (after shipment)

U.S.: usually 2–7 business days
Canada: usually 7–14 business days

These are carrier estimates and can’t be guaranteed.

Once Your Order Ships

When your package is handed to the carrier and you receive a tracking number, it is officially in their system.

If tracking shows Delivered, the carrier has completed the shipment.

If your package is marked delivered but you can’t find it:

  1. Check with neighbors or your household
  2. Contact the carrier to open a claim
  3. Email us and we’ll help however we can

We’re always happy to assist, but we’re not able to replace or refund packages that the carrier confirms as delivered.

Lost or Delayed Packages

Carrier delays (weather, holidays, routing issues, customs, etc.) are outside our control.

If a package appears lost in transit, please contact us within 7 days of the last tracking update so we can help start a carrier claim.

Incorrect or Undeliverable Addresses

If a package is returned to us because the address was entered incorrectly or couldn’t be delivered:

  • the original shipping cost is not refundable
  • the customer is responsible for the reshipping cost

Canada: Customs & Import Fees

Canadian orders may be subject to:

  • customs duties
  • taxes
  • import fees

These are set by your country and are the customer’s responsibility.

If a package is refused due to customs fees, any return charges will be deducted from the refund.

High-Value Orders

For higher-value shipments, we may:

  • require a signature on delivery
  • upgrade the shipping service

at no additional cost to you.

Order Changes & Cancellations

We’re not able to change or cancel an order once it has started processing or shipped.

Our Responsibility

If there is ever an issue with your order, please reach out. We genuinely want you to receive your books safely.

Our responsibility for the shipment is fulfilled once the carrier has accepted the package and provided tracking.
