This weekend, I had the privilege of stepping into a world where the vibrant pulse of Filipino creativity beats at its strongest—Pinoy Power! A Celebration of Filipino Komiks from the Archipelago to the Bay at the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco. Invited by the enthusiastic Bong Redilla, my experience was nothing short of revelatory, a journey through decades of Filipino excellence in komiks that have left an indelible mark on the world.

The exhibition, running from December 23, 2023, to April 28, 2024, is a profound homage to the Filipino spirit and its revolutionary impact on the global comic book industry. Sponsored by Soma Pilipinas, with an engaging reception held on March 22, 2024, and a Filipino Komiks Marketplace event that followed, it's clear this exhibit is more than just a display; it's a celebration of culture, history, and the relentless creativity of the Filipino people.
